Contura

Contura is an adjustable resting chair, giving optimal comfort with the legs above the heart*. This chair has been in the international furniture market since 1994, and was rewarded the Norwegian “Classic award” at the Innovative Power exhibition in 2018. The aim of the Contura mechanism is to bring the human body from sitting to lying position in one “seamless” movement. Their idea for this advanced mechanism goes back to the late 1980s, when the designers Asbjørnsen & Lade did cooperate with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), to improve the comfort during long flights.

sapDesign’s Contura collection is constantly being developed for new markets. The chairs mechanism is patent protected in China, Europe, USA and Canada. The latest Contura comes with optional features like manual or motorized recline movement, a side table, massage functions and a variety of footrests.
