“Where people gather and noise occurs, the oasis of silence and short-term relaxation can add some of nature’s own, positive influence to man”. 

In 1996, sapDesign® participated in an international design competition in Osaka, Japan, with their new concept Oasis, focusing on rest and shielding in hectic, urban environments. Their Oasis concept later became the foundation for sapDesigns development of "silent rooms" in partnership with the Norwegian company Bluepoint/Quietpod, being pioneers in the international market. In co-operation with the Norwegian SINTEF (one of Europe’s largest, independent research institute) the silence was optimized in small, separate room-in-the room solutions for office and work environments, where sapDesign and Jarle Slyngstad was delivering the designs and solutions to QuietPod®.
